Custom Rubber stamp from your logo!

Custom rubberstamp from logo photo by intertwyned photography

As I was packing orders this a.m. I realized I hadn’t done a sale in the shop in a very long while!  With baby, Foto Rx and my regular shipping schedule it’s easy to let these things fall by the wayside, I plan to rectify that today! I am a huge proponent of getting a custom logo stamp made for your business, it’s the easiest way to get branding readily available to a multitude of items-make your own note cards, labels, use for shipping boxes, gift tags, the list goes on and on! For the entire month of March (but yes, starting today!) ALL custom logo stamps will be 50% off.  That should give  you plenty of time to get your artwork prepped and ready to be made into your own custom logo stamp! This discount is ONLY for custom logo stamps please (and thank you!)

This is also a pre-celebratory sale, our Foto Rx Shopkeeper’s Helper is launching in March and it will be your key to editing stellar shop photos, which in turn could only mean more sales, right? And you’ll need to include thank you notes with your logo, gift tags on any freebies, you’ll want to stamp all your parcels with your logo, I mean you’ll be busy, busy and want to make sure you are prepared! The coupon discount code is LOGOSTAMP50, on each description are instructions on how files need to be set-up to make the best stamp plate possible, again this is ONLY for custom logo stamps. Enjoy!

P.S. For those new to coupon codes in Etsy, once you put item in cart, you’ll find a ‘apply coupon code’ highlighted in blue below the ‘paypal’ logo, just click, put in the code LOGOSTAMP50 and it will deduct 50% from your stamp order!

P.P.S. Yes, of course, if you just want to make a custom stamp with your own artwork you can use this code too!!!

LITTLE BIRD STAMP GIVEAWAY

HAND DRAWN BIRD BESOTTED BLOG I

I have been in some sort of organization mode for the better part of the last month. I am usually very organized but it has reached a fever pitch, I am trying to organize to the the ‘nth degree. I have slowly been adding the new offerings like the charming tiny bird above, hand drawn with a crown no less! I also have a beautiful new ink color in stock a deep espresso brown. I have wanted this color for a while but my vendor used to only have chocolate browns, or reddish browns or general ugly browns; this deep, dark brown is perfect. I have to be careful with getting too attached, the last two colors I fell for they discontinued as soon as I professed my love for them.

I did a little organizing of this here blog as well! It’s a work in progress (so many tweaks I want to do) but I have added an easy access to some of my favorite hand lettered + calligraphy fonts, these are just some that I have mentioned previously but I will be adding to it on a regular basis and even breaking down the categories. I am working on getting all the Lettering interviews organized in one place (I have a great one coming up this Thursday). I created a tab for both tutorials and DIY and also for my fave foto posts (lots of great film resources!) I tried this before without success but I am trying again, I have added a category for announcing winners, check to see if you won last weeks prize!

So, enough about my organizing frenzy, let’s give away this little bird stamp and an espresso ink pad, no? This question came courtesy of my friend Mary and we posed it to a few friends and family members with both thoughtful (and hilarious) responses.

If you could write a note to your your younger self, what would you say in only two words?

Answer this question in the comments by Sunday, November 3, 2013 and check here to see if you have won! I am excited to see your answers, mine was ‘be you’. I felt like I spent my early adulthood trying to be everyone but myself, now that I am older I realize that I’m not half bad.

BESOTTED BRAND NEW OFFERINGS!

WREATH_MADEWITHLOVE_Ia_BESOTTED BLOGI am very excited to be adding some new offerings before holiday!  I know from how many times the hand drawn wreaths have been downloaded (a mind boggling amount) that people want a hand drawn wreath in their life so I decided to pair it with Miss Jess’s amazing Jacob Riley font.  I usually don’t disclose the fonts I use in my designs but this is one that I just love and I think may get overlooked in all her beautiful script offerings, you need to own it (and hopefully my stamp), also take a peek at Saltpetre as well!  I think this stamp will be perfect when prepared with your homemade cookie recipe, I made it so it could fit on the large parcel tags where you can write a note to your recipient on the back! I believe it will have a longer life than just holiday so it’s an excellent addition to your stamp arsenal.

SPECIAL DELIVERY NORTH POLE I BESOTTED BLOG

Our postmark stamps have been a favorite since I launched them way back when with my first shop.  I have never done a separate cancellation stamp before but thought it would be a sweet addition to this new offering, I hope you like it as well!  You can always get your own custom postmark stamp here and add your own creative text! I have a few more pieces and a new ink color to reveal but I think in the interim I should be giving away one of the above stamps, don’t you?

Just answer the following question by, Sunday, October 27, 2013:

What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday song?

The winner can choose their fave stamp from above!  I always announce the winners on the bottom of my Monday posts so if you played last week then please check to see if you won the prize has not been claimed yet!

P.S. Mrs. Limestone has unveiled her new Halloween decorations for 2013, it’s out of control creative (as always!)

STAMPING PERFECTLY ON COTTON BAGS

stamping on cotton bags besotted blog

Technically you could use my technique to stamp on most fabrics, but for the purpose of this tutorial I will focus on the cotton drawstring bags since this is the fabric I most stamp on in my day-to-day fabric stamping adventures.  Also, with the holidays upon us I think the fabric bags make a great alternative to packaging that will be thrown by the wayside.  These bags tend to be thin and wrinkle quite easily so I always iron prior to stamping as you want to have as flat a surface as possible.  Stamping is not as forgiving as other printing techniques and you do want your substrate (what you are stamping on) as smooth as possible so start with ironed fabric without a lot of texture (so nothing nubby, ribbed, raised, furry, etc.)  My most secret of tools for ironing these tiny bags quickly and without dragging out my ironing board and iron is an old hair straightener, yes a hair straightener.  You don’t need a fancy one, just a cheapy that heats up to a nice temp (mine goes as high as 450 f) that will actually iron out your wrinkles;  I just clamp down on one end and pull it through the iron and it is perfect every time!  The iron is now dedicated for crafting, which I would suggest for yours as well.  Once you have a nice ironed bag you will want to put a piece of thick + stiff cardstock in it.  This serves two purposes 1) it makes for a nice stiff surface to stamp on and 2) it will prevent the ink from bleeding to the other side. I just cut down a piece of scrap cardstock to size and use it over and over (if there’s no ink that has seeped through). [Read more…]
