I thought this little vignette of plates was quite charming. I don’t think I would ever do anything like this in my own home, but I can appreciate the cheeky nature of it. My style is more airy and comfort driven (at least I’d like to think so), so walls of mismatched plates would not work for me, but they do work here on this boutique hotel wall. I suppose when I am on the East Coast I will have to go to Miami to get my quirk fix in, there’s nothing like this in NYC that I know of and you’d be able to blow me over with a feather if I saw a hotel like this in NC. I’ve never been to Miami, unless you count the time I was stuck in the Miami airport for 5 hours, (I don’t). One of the things I am looking forward to most about this relocation is the ability to easily travel to other states. I haven’t had the opportunity to see much of the U.S. and I have always wanted to explore more. How about you? Been anywhere amazing in the states? Don’t say California, it’ll make me homesick before I leave and I can’t have that now can I?

I honestly don’t even remember exactly where it was, however when my sister was in school at UVA we used to make the trip to see her from NJ to VA. There was a rest stop along the way that had this Johnny Appleseed store. I used to be able to spend ridiculous amounts of time in there. We would buy snack and sit out on the grass and just enjoy nature eating impromptu picnic style.
It probably wasn’t the most interesting of places but memories of those little picnics will ALWAYS stick with me. Bar Harbor Maine, Parts of Vermont, Kent Lake in KY… there are so many amazingly beautiful places in the US! You are gonna love the move it out on the east-ish coast!
