PINTEREST CURATOR DIANE KEATON

Curator Diane Keaton Besotted

When Moira sent me an email that I would love this curator she was not kidding–I am nutty coo for her. Really, Diane Keaton on Pinterest?  And the boards? Oh, the boards! Yes, they have a leaning towards the neutrals (a palette I have an affinity for) but they are all done so well. Interesting photography, great typography and of course her eye for interiors is impeccable.  Yes, I do find it hard to believe Diane Keaton is actually pinning (although pinning is highly addictive) but even if it is someone in her close coterie of confidantes doing it for her the boards are still sublime.  My faves? Dog Day Afternoon, About Face and Product Placement.  You can visit her boards here and even better check out who she is following, a lot of the pinners on that elite list are not too shabby themselves and you may find yourself adding some new favorites to your follows.

And…I can’t believe no one is in a creative rut. Can everyone but myself, Michelle and Torrie need inspiration? Peeshaw, join us for some Inspiration Rx, you don’t need a fancy camera, your camera phone shall do, you don’t even need a computer write your prose on a bit of cocktail napkin and upload it, we are easy! It’s so much better when there’s more of us to join in!

PINTEREST LETTERING CURATORS

LETTERING CURATORS BESOTTED BLOGI have only done one other collective curator post and I do believe I wrote that I would never do it again; so interesting how never came so soon.  I have a long list of curators I want to get to, many your suggestions which I love to take on and of course to be introduced to.  I think I am just giddy with the way this week is progressing, all your wonderful comments on Molly’s new book (have you entered to win, yet?), knowing I have her interview to share with you tomorrow (she’s totally as amazing as you might think) and I am in the throes of an international rush lettering project that I agreed to because I am madly in love with the photographer, she’s just so talented that I knew I would be bemoaning the lost opportunity forever if I didn’t at least try to go for it. So, what I am saying is I have lettering on the brain and decided to introduce you to a few Pinterest curators that have collected some pretty inspiring lettering works.  I do hope you visit them!

P.S. And I may or may not be planning a future Seattle calligraphy workshop with one of my fave people and calligraphers in October. Perhaps you may know of someone that may want to attend?  We are going to try to keep it intimate so each student gets the attention they deserve!

PINTEREST CURATOR OUI OUI STUDIO

PINTEREST CURATOR OUI OUI STUDIOS BESOTTED

I don’t hide my affection for the Scandinavian aesthetic and you will find the curators I choose often have that bent. I love the absence of color and the embracing of both graphic black & white and the soothing properties of white on its on and moody blacks, the soft neutrals and the love of natural textural elements (have you seen how many antlers are part of a Scandinavian bloggers homes?)  Also, there’s a love of typography and I could go on and on. I am so grateful for the internet that it has made it even more accessible to me (and you). Today, I wanted to introduce you to Netherlands based Oui Oui Studio, there are too many good boards to list here, but some of my faves are I heart neutrals and soft tonesI heart silver, I heart hats (such a good board!) and I heart DIY, some very chic ideas to inspire you.  Oui Oui Studio also has a blog that you may want to peruse, but if you can’t bear to visit another blog, do visit her boards and start re-pinning!

Today, I am going to get out of the apartment for a couple of hours and go on a mini field trip with Michelle of Creatocrat (my co-professor in Souvenir Foto School + a great curator). I am so happy to be able to get out and do a little exploring, but even more excited to finally be able to get out and shoot. I have barely picked up my camera in the last 5 months and I am feeling that it may not be like riding a bike and that I have forgotten how to use my camera! I don’t have a plan of what it is that I will be shooting, I am just going to allow myself to take in the adventure and try not to be too hard on myself.  If you are feeling a little stuck with your own photography inspiration Ez has posted some great prompts that should inspire you to  get out and start shooting!

PINTEREST CURATOR CLEMENCE

Curator Clemence Besotted

Yesterday I ate an entire 2 scoop Molly Moon ice cream and waffle cone and felt very heavy. After months of not being able to eat this feat was quite the accomplishment. I wasn’t able to do it in one sitting like my husband, but I did finish it by the end of the evening. I politely asked one of the employees if they knew calorie count (since I am keeping track for the docs) and he whispered, “nobody knows”.  I am going to assume I ate the equivalent of Thanksgiving dinner. Worth it? I think so and my husband definitely thinks so. When I came home to work on this board, I wanted to go light and airy to visually counterbalance the sublime heaviness that overtook my being.

Today I bring you the darling Clemence of Oh, the lovely things. I like that Clemence has included a ton of resource pins from her beauty board which has some amazing hair tutorial links and diy beauty treatment, to her tips & tricks board, blogging resources, make it wear it, freebies and DIY , you will be sure to find something creative + crafty amongst the bevy of inspiration she has curated.  Clemence is definitely girly (but not too sugary), so expect her boards to have a definitive femme leaning. You can visit Clemence here.

P.S. For those that were wondering I went into Molly Moon’s for a scoop of strawberry balsamic (sweet + tangy) and left with two scoops–salted caramel (blow your mind good) and maple walnut (I like my ice cream with nuts in it).

PINTEREST CURATOR CONNIE WONG

Curator Connie Wong Besotted II

I am now a bit lethargic about now as I finally put the finishing touches on fashion publicist Connie Wong’s Pinterest curator piece. I spent way too much time clicking through her pins and then clicking through the sources and then getting lost down the rabbit hole that is the internet.  Although Connie has plenty of light and airy pins, (check out her office space board), I was completely drawn to the more glam pins above.  She has such a good eye for finding the perfect modern glam images, so girly yet sophisticated. Connie even had me, the girl that eschews color, gravitating to the vibrant pops of crimson throughout. Her Dreamy Closets are just that, it satisfies my love of both shoes & organization and although it goes against my minimalist self I found that I was coveting every last one of them. My all time fave pin of hers though was this one, I just can’t get over how delicious it is, can you? I hope you visit Connie and see for yourself what I am prattling on about.

P.S. Wish me luck today, I am going to attempt to edit the screencast for you for tomorrow, if I can’t figure it out I may just have to get you the raw/unedited version and hope it all makes sense, yikes!
