PINTEREST LETTERING CURATORS

LETTERING CURATORS BESOTTED BLOGI have only done one other collective curator post and I do believe I wrote that I would never do it again; so interesting how never came so soon.  I have a long list of curators I want to get to, many your suggestions which I love to take on and of course to be introduced to.  I think I am just giddy with the way this week is progressing, all your wonderful comments on Molly’s new book (have you entered to win, yet?), knowing I have her interview to share with you tomorrow (she’s totally as amazing as you might think) and I am in the throes of an international rush lettering project that I agreed to because I am madly in love with the photographer, she’s just so talented that I knew I would be bemoaning the lost opportunity forever if I didn’t at least try to go for it. So, what I am saying is I have lettering on the brain and decided to introduce you to a few Pinterest curators that have collected some pretty inspiring lettering works.  I do hope you visit them!

P.S. And I may or may not be planning a future Seattle calligraphy workshop with one of my fave people and calligraphers in October. Perhaps you may know of someone that may want to attend?  We are going to try to keep it intimate so each student gets the attention they deserve!

  1. Well, I am delighted you put this together because it is a great resource for us. And I was beyond humbled and pleased to see something familiar on your own Pinterest! Thank you for that and for the incredibly gorgeous lettering examples you provide.

And while I am out of the state at the moment, I call Seattle home for most of the year. I would love to attend a calligraphy workshop but I will also be knee-deep in classes and work so it might not be possible.

  2. love this b & w collection, and exciting to hear about your commissioned project ! while there is an added layer of “make-it-perfect” when we’re not just lettering for ourselves, to make something for others to use is such a rewarding endeavour…

oh and gosh, i -wish- i lived on the west coast !!

  3. i live in Vancouver, BC just past the border so a calligraphy workshop in Seattle would just be a dream and definitely worth the trip down. Please do keep us posted, Tristan! You’re a star!

  4. Oooh! I’m just off to do a modern calligraphy course tomorrow and these inspirational boards have me soooo excited! Thanks Tristan. PS. I would totally have come to your course but I live on the other side of the world so it would be a bit tricky ;)

  5. Thanks for this post! Also, THANK you for the heads up about molly’s book… the plurabelle blog is what got me into calligraphy… I stalked her blog and devoured every post…
