MMXII::45::EDITING A PHOTO-A-DAY IN 2012::

MMXII::45::AFTER
Oh, my!  I forgot it was Valentine’s Day, I want to wish you all a day filled with love and sweets! I mentioned that my husband and I celebrated early, so happy about that; who wants to go to a crowded dinner on a Tuesday anyway? Not I said the fly.  I know some people think this holiday is just a big bunch of commercialism but I actually quite like it. It’s nice to stop and do something special for the person you love. So today I am sending you my love, lot’s of it with a bear hug thrown in for good measure.

I will be editing a photo a day for the remainder of 2012::Project MMXII, this is my ‘after’, you can view the ‘before’ here.

P.S. Don’t forget about the Natural History prints giveaway. Here’s the details.

MMXII::44::AFTER
I find this owl to have a look of ‘don’t mess with me’, is it just me?  I am coo coo for antique photo processes and love to go hide out in my ‘digital darkroom’ and try to recreate those same techniques. I would love to take an alternate photo developing class, but for today I will be satisfied with Photoshop.
I hope you will be participating in the print giveaway, because I am dying for another excuse to procrastinate on Pinterest for hours on end (not that I do, nope, not me).  Here’s the details if you need more info.

NATURAL HISTORY PRINTS GIVEAWAY II!

I have a new Owl giclee and a bad ass hawk giclee to giveaway! The Owl is 8″ x 12″ matted in an 11″ x 14″ frame and the Hawk is 8″ x 12″ matted in a 16″ x 20″ frame. I think the hawk would be a cool addition to a teenage boys room or to put up in your rustic cabin getaway. The Owl, well, I must say this owl is not for the meek as it has eyes that are tack sharp and I could swear it’s staring my 3lb. pup down. It’s really realistic. The colors on both prints are neutral, dark espresso, warm grays, off whites and the tiniest pops of gold in the eyes of the birds. These were professionally framed and were even signed by the framer to last for life (this is no joke, they left no space for me to sign). I am going to make you work a little harder this time to enter to win. All you need to do is create a board on Pinterest  (it takes two seconds) that has the print you prefer in it and how you would build an outfit, a room or inspiration board around it (just one of these) and add your link to it in the comments.  I will visit each of your boards (pinky promise) and will choose the winners  via the most pin inducing  board! Don’t pin? No problem!  Just let me know in the comments where you would put this in your home, office or who you would gift it to. I will be giving away two professionally framed prints–one Owl ($125 USD value) and one Hawk ($200 USD value) to two separate winners! This is open  worldwide, you have until next Monday, February 20, 2012, 11:59 p.m. Pacific time to enter to win. Good luck!

These little sprigs of Rosemary are from my garden. Well, what was once considered my garden until I killed everything, even with the soil for dum dums that supposedly was fool proof but this fool messed up. I have pretty much left everything to become a barren wasteland, it looks like a scene from Mad Max out there.  It rained for a few days on and off, my Rosemary had a second wind though. I guess it prefers Mother Nature to me.
I am coming back later today for another framed print giveaway, this time they are professionally framed and not framed by me, which is a good thing because it seems I don’t have an aptitude for framing.  The previous prints did arrive at their destinations safe and sound so I am confident that I can at least get the winners their prizes in one piece (a relief). I have two new prints that I hope you like, but will have to wait until I can pull together another post. I think we can all agree I am not the speediest person on the planet, but I do get there–eventually.

MMXII::42::EDITING A PHOTO-A-DAY IN 2012::

Can I just tell you how exhausted I am? Last night we went out on an early Valentine’s date. We don’t usually go out, so anything past 8 p.m. is seriously partying for us. We really did it up too–dinner and  a comedy show. We like to watch stand-up comedy on Netflix so why not go to a live show? Completely different experience, firstly you aren’t wearing your husbands over-sized college sweatshirt (and looking so sexy, hah) or tucked in a bed with sheets so soft they should be illegal, surrounded by little fur monkey puppies that can’t get enough of your goodness. Being in high heels, make-up and in cramped quarters on a super stiff chair watching the lukewarm comedian’s before the ‘start’ arrives was a little painful. I am happy being a homebody unless my husband would like to travel to Italy or the Maldives, totally count me in. Late night club atmosphere, thank you, but no thank you.
