MAKE UP FOREVER HD INVISIBLE CONCEALER REVIEW

makeup forever hd concealer besotted review

I have had a serious case of the uglies with all this cross country moving, stress, motion sickness and sleepless nights going on. I decided that I needed some serious help and surgery was not an option so I went to Sephora instead.  I had such success with the Make Up Forever HD Invisible foundation, that I decided to try their highly rated concealer. My usual favorite concealer was not cutting my new set of complexion disasters and I needed help stat.  I have to say this concealer is better than this one (which make-up artist and beauty editors adore and is very hard on the budget). I think Make Up Forever has created maybe one of the world’s most perfect concealers. It doesn’t crease, a little goes a long way; it covers blemishes, dark circles and even my hyper-pigmentation without being noticeable that you are wearing concealer. I have dry skin but my best friend has oily skin and has loved it as much as I have. I know having a great attitude helps with the way one is perceived but having a secret weapon concealer is just as good (maybe better).

P.S. I am out of my mind excited that Smashbox has a new CC cream!  I still have some BB creams to use up, but this new CC cream shall be my next purchase (I have been very happy with their BB creams and have bought three tubes since it launched, it’s a great product). Have you tried it yet?

  1. tristan,

as always, love your makeup posts. i will agree with you on the over-rated/$$$ concealer. i do love my cle de peau concealer stick but will check out the makeup forever next time i’m at sephora. which will probably be today, now that you’ve piqued my curiosity.

  2. Jane, thank you, I would LOVE to know what you think! My friend with the more oily complexion would only use the Cle de Peau but she fell in love with the HD concealer. It has a great texture and if applied right (I find a lot of people are heavy handed with product) you can get really natural results. I did not expect to be able to cover everything and not look like I had been spackling my visage but it saved me from feeling like Quasimodo (I actually looked worse prior). Please do tell if you found a replacement for the Philosophy Miracle Worker? I am still on the hunt and I miss it so:(

  3. Such perfect timing – thank you! I’m just getting to the end of my Laura Mercier concealer and I haven’t really been loving it. It works fine but having to use a brush for concealer bugs me.

Just got the newer version of the L’Oreal Voluminous mascara (the 24 hour power volume one) and I think I’m going to love it once I break it in. I HATE the first two weeks with a fresh tube of mascara. So clumpy. Is that just me? I’ve finally learned not to judge mascara during the first two weeks.

  4. Rachel! I know people love the Laura Mercier concealer I’ve tried several but they get cakey on me. I only use a brush if I am going to an event for work then I bring out the entire make-up arsenal brushes and all.

Okay, I have a trick for the mascara and I am going to mention to everyone don’t sue me if you go blind or what not, but I too think new mascara is more goopy/clumpy/messy. I always open the tube pull out the wand and set it on the counter when I get ready, it seems to need to ‘air out’, I will also use a tissue the first few times to get rid of excess product. You won’t waste that much mascara (promise) and it should start working like it should in a day or so:) I am totally out of mascara so I will try the one you just bought. I think L’Oreal and the ‘Falsies’ are great bang for the buck but I am seriously jonesing to try the new Benefit mascara ‘They’re real’.

  5. I know! I’ve been wanting to try the new Benefit, but I talked myself into being more frugal and going with the L’Oreal. I’ll try the airing out next time, it’s still a little clumpy for my tastes but you get crazy length and decent volume, so I think it’s a good value.

So sad I didn’t make it to Sephora this weekend to pick up the concealer. I’m going to have to figure out a time to go this week (and might also indulge in your last blush recommendation).
