MMXI::TWENTY-NINE

I know I have been slacking on my photo edits, but can I tell you how busy I am?  I  actually am trying to keep myself upright whilst I write this because I haven’t slept for a couple of days. G.G. and I have been getting into the office by 7 a.m. (which means I MUST get up hours ahead to get ready and look ‘natural’) and leaving by 7 p.m.  Of course G.G. doesn’t mind because I work in a dog treat factory and basically she thinks that I have the best job on earth. I on the other hand am exhausted.  It’s a good exhaustion though, I am thrilled with being able to be creative all day long.  It seems that I flourish in an environment where my ideas are appreciated, go figure?

Back to the edits…I have been toying with the idea for a couple of weeks now to ask if you wanted me to try my hand at editing some of your photo’s. One of my lovely Souvenir Foto School students Mollie graciously asked me do a guest edit on her blog and I really love the idea of playing with images that may be a good memory but not the best photo.  What do you think?  I would need a low res image to evaluate the photo to see if I can even work with it  (I am a Photoshop Ninja but no magician) and then a higher-res one to be able to play. Talk amongst yourselves, let me know what you think.  Until then I shall continue finding photo’s that I have forgotten like this ‘before’. The ‘after’ above reminds me a little of a Seurat, boaters, lake, etc.  The Hassadic Jews in the boat feel like they could be from another time.  This edit brought me back to a happy day.  I truly love Central Park in the fall. Sigh.

HONESTLY, WTF

I am coo coo for the blog ‘Honestly WTF’.  I am already a huge DIY fan, but I am also a DIY snob if you will.  I don’t like craft for the sake of craft, so please no macaroni artwork.  I like DIY with a purpose, I like DIY that can enhance your life.  The above hex nut bracelet (YES! Hex nuts?!  WTF?)  drives me crazy, I would consider this an enhancement, no? It’s so creative + cute!  The blog is penned by the girls behind Two Bandits and I honestly could spend hours poring over it and if you like fashion with a little crafty on the side you just may love it too.

MMXI::TWENTY-EIGHT + HAPPY MONDAY!

I would love to tell you that I am a morning person, because I feel like it would behoove me to be one, but alas I am not. I am a night owl, even though that consists of nothing more exciting than reading into the wee hours of the morning.  Bella on the other hand is an early bird, a way too early bird.  The  image above is often what I see in the a.m. AFTER Bella has launched all 32 lbs of muscle onto my  solar plexus and smelled my face vigorously (Bella doesn’t kiss like other dogs, she sniffs). After my shock of being woken up by a Frenchie bomb, Bella will pretend she is asleep (see Exhibit A. above).  Bella is not a good actress. When the Fancy shushes her  to keep it down, Bella translates it as ‘Oh, you want to be bombed too?’ and proceeds to hurtle herself full throttle on to him.  I am not a morning person, but having this furry alarm clock, as annoying as she may be, is delightful.  I can never stay cross at her for very long and when I see those pink bat ears pop up from behind a mound of duvet I can do nothing more than smile.  Wishing you the happiest of Monday’s!

MMXI::TWENTY-SEVEN

Tonight I am grateful, you?  I have so much to be grateful for–my health (you never truly appreciate it until it has been compromised), my new job which is full of creativity and allows me to bring my best-friend to work with me and that I have my freedom.  My heart goes out to Christchurch New Zealand and the innocents in Libya.  I love that my first day out and about the sky was filled with big, fluffy clouds and this heart appeared before me.  I am also grateful that I had my camera with me.
