Every week I have high hopes for blog posts and almost every week I come up short, I am seriously the worse blogger ever. I told Michelle that putting together the capsule wardrobe post was taking forever and yes it still is, this mama is super slow these days. I figured it might be easier to just post what I have found thus far, in case you were waiting with bated breath, you never know, someone out there might be.
First up is that elusive white cable knit sweater, I have found some options, hint I am going to go with this steal, but it’s definitely a wildcard (and maybe a total bomb), but the cut looks nice and the price is insane?! I have been on the hunt for some ivory cords, again this is as elusive as that darn cable knit turtle neck and unicorn! I got seriously lucky and found them on sale (50% off), I am not sure about sizing since I have never tried this brand on in person, but I’ll keep you posted. I did get these black jeans, they fit incredible are super comfortable and so far have kept their fit, black jeans are one of those items that I really hate spending money on because they wear out so quickly no matter how high the quality and I really like my black jeans to look black. They are comfortable like a legging but are more put together, the price is so right it’s worth giving them a try. I really wanted a motorcycle boot in black and a pair of brown booties, but when I spotted these motorcycle boots in brown, I thought maybe they’d be the best of both world’s, at the price you can’t go wrong. I got them in and they are a really dark brown and I needed to send back to get a full size larger (it was free to exchange and pretty effortless). At first I wasn’t sure if the dark brown was to my liking, but after wearing them for a few days I am pretty happy with my purchase, they are really nice quality for the price, although I do wish I would have gotten them in black, because there is a reason black motorcycle boots are a classic. If you found the ‘zero waste’ wardrobe inspiring (I certainly did), and there isn’t a good resale or consignment store near you, I found this online one that seems to get rave reviews and you can even send them your clothes to re-sell, which is a bonus if you are both trying to pare down and want to make a little extra cash.
What about you? Have you been trying the capsule wardrobe? Any success stories? Any great budget shops that have great silhouettes?

Tristan, that sweater looks adorable, I’ve seen some pretty great finds on that site as well. But I did a little research and I think it is good too be true. I remember reading reviews of people saying some of their orders never even arrived or when they did they were nothing like what was pictured. So just a warning to be careful!
p.s. I was waiting for your capsule wardrobe post, they are my new obsession :P
Don’t waste the $22 on that sweater! I did a while back and it was not worth it. The cut is super weird. Even if you are the kind of girl that would look good in a potato sack, this sweater will look bad. I too am still in the hunt for a good chunky white cable knit. I saw a lands end advertisement a few days ago that had one featured. Might be worth checking out!
Lol, Jennifer at the 11th hour I chickened out! I ordered this sweater: http://amzn.to/1LSJh8Y It looks great (feels a bit itchy), the color is more oatmeal than cream. From the reviews I ordered a medium (I’d normally buy a small) but everyone said it ran small, well it was huge, I am thinking even the small will look big, but it was via my Prime membership so I have free returns. The Land’s End sweater is what is featured in the post, it’s actually a very good price for a sweater of that quality, I should probably just order that one, hah!
Rachel, I just found out that Amazon has some of their items in stock in their warehouse, if I ever did try them I’d order from Amazon. It’ll probably be Spring before I finish that darn post, I know there has to be an easier way, it is taking me forever to line everything up, lol. I have found some great finds, those boots for one are seriously aces, I’ve already gotten a bajillion compliments and that’s just from people one the street. Now I am having a boot debacle (in my brain), I am sure I will share soon, first world problems of course…
Nooooo! I just looked up the Lands End Sweater online, and predictably, it is already sold out except for size XL. Hopefully they will re-stock!
Lol, I did the same thing AND I ended buying another sweater, that came in way too large and when I went to get a smaller size it was sold out too! I guess fall is open us. This is not wool but it looks nice and the price is right: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?br=F21&Category=sweater&ProductID=2000157440&VariantID=
