We are so thrilled to be able to announce today our launch of our first set of photo enhancing actions/filters! This set is one click editing (even the most novice of Photoshop users can edit with out Photoshop action sets!), but it is also highly adjustable and customizable so you can create your own preferred look.

I suppose it is no secret that Michelle and I decided to place our focus on photography with an emphasis on utilizing our design/branding background within the photographic realm, especially pouring our energies into our fledgling start-up Foto Rx. Last year when we decided to focus, we had multiple projects we were working on within multiple disciplines and nothing seemed to relate to one another. Instead of having a forward momentum we were treading water, we were constantly overwhelmed and just overall burnt out. In a huge leap of faith, we decided to focus on our worst performing project, we rationalized that if we gave it a modicum of attention that we did to our other projects would it not surpass them? This last month was our first month (in a year mind you) that our little company made as much for us as taking on freelance design/branding clients. It has not been easy, it has been thoroughly frightening at times. I have wanted to give up and try something new many times, but we created a road map and we decided to stick to it (open of course to better ways to doing things), but really trying to maintain our focus (which we both thoroughly struggle with). Has focusing paid off?  I would say it has! Having a focus, did not stifle our creativity, which was a major fear, instead it has allowed us to delve deeper and since we are mentally staying on topic it seems like the creative flood gates have opened up for us. We would not be able to produce at the level we are producing if we weren’t focusing and let me tell you we have a ton coming out of the Foto Rx Lab very soon! But back to the new set…

Our newest offering will assist in creating a moody, atmospheric feel to your photos. We have plenty of sample ‘before’ images in our PDF so you will have an idea of the types of images that will translate best. We had been pondering what to name the sets and decided to go with a geographic theme, ‘Portland’ we felt really personified this set-moody, foggy, textural, organic. We are truly hoping this helps individuals to develop their own editing style and look, something we know that can feel both overwhelming and elusive. Being able to adjust the effects will really help you make it your own. We hope you don’t mind as we do little happy dances in our chairs as we hit publish, it’s a super exciting day for us and we are so happy that we get to share our excitement with you!

What about you?  Have you been struggling with focus?  Have you started on your road to focusing? Do you feel like you are on creative steroids too? Have any questions on the set or focusing? We are happy to answer!

P.S. People on our mailing list have been known to get special goodies when we launch, just saying…want yours? Come and get them here.
