I LOVE FALSIES::MASCARA REVIEW

I know the copy on my photo could be misconstrued so let me rectify any potential misunderstanding and let you know that ‘Falsies’ is the name of the mascara that I am loving.  I bought it prior and liked it, but that was when we were vacationing in San Francisco. Back in the City of Angels it didn’t work as well, but here in the deep country of the Carolinas it’s working mighty fine (and it is H-U-M-I-D here). I don’t have a need for extra long lashes in my remote corner of the world, unless of course to try to keep my shirtless husband attracted to me, but he actually likes me without mascara (go figure?). The truth is I like having Daddy long leg-like lashes, it makes me feel prettier and that has to count for something right? Now if I could only get rid of the back fat, I would be golden. I have recommended a lot of mascaras in my time and you may wonder what this one does that the others don’t, well it gives a little curve to the ends and it both thickens and lengthens. It’s super inexpensive for such a good mascara, horrible name (but gets the point across) and I could do without the purple and aqua packaging but it’s deep in my make-up drawer so no one has to see it but me and my long lashes.

  1. Thank you Erin! Hi Deborah, you can get Falsies at the drugstore and if you click the red ‘prior’ in the post you can get a nice close-up:) BUT I think you can see how thick and dark my lashes are from Mars;)

  2. I’ve been living in SoCal all my life and have never even heard of the brand! I occasionally dabble in falsh eyelashed for special occasions but if I found this brand of mascara I’d be SOLD in a heartbeat! You look fantastic…all doe-eyed perfection!

    Would love to get your thoughts on my most recent hotel renovation when you get a chance! Hope to see you soon!

  3. You know I share your addiction, although I will take THICKER over longer if possible. I’m still loving the L’Oreal you recommended, but I’m getting close to running out, maybe I’ll try this one.

    I’ve also thought about trying that new Benefit one, but it’s pricey so I’d want to try it before buying it, which would mean I’d have to venture out of the house sans mascara. Embarrassing to admit, but that never happens, ever.

  4. Rachel are you talking about the ‘Bad Girl’ mascara? I got a sample of it at Sephora and it was raccoon eye city! I didn;t have luck with Falsies in L.A. but you live near enough to the beach that I think it won’t be as melty there.

  5. Benefit has a newer one called “they’re real!” and it’s supposed to make it look like you’re wearing false eyelashes.

    I think I’ll have to go test it out.

  6. I have such poor luck with mascara. Lately, everything I wear burns my eyes and turns them red. Looking like you’ve spent the weekend at a legaliz pot convention isn’t a sexy look.

    I broke down and bought Lancome mascara (which I have always hated) with aridiculous vibrating wand. (???!!!) It’s okay. It doesn’t give me the length and thickness that I like, but it doesn’t burn my eyes. Compromises suck. ;)

    p.s. Could you be anymore beautiful?

  7. Jules, I should no better than to take a sip of coffee before reading a comment from you–dangergous for my computer screen! I have ALWAYS wanted to try the vibrating wand mascara, but now that you have given it a ‘meh’ I won’t waste my time;) AND thank you for the KIND words, it’s B+W so you can’t see how wrinkled & splotchy I look, but I WAS having a good hair day!

  8. This is good to know. I never wear mascara when I am at work (I work outside in a landscape/garden design firm) because it always ends up down my face in the hot and humid weather. I will have to give this a try!
