MMXII::50::EDITING A PHOTO-A-DAY IN 2012::

I can’t believe I made it to 50! I bet you can’t either. I have watched as my Blogger followers (that’s what they are called here on Blogger, I didn’t make that name up), have followed and un-followed in rapid succession. I have to say that I am so co-dependent that I take the un-follow as a personal slap that I am not doing my bit to satisfy you ‘followers’. I don’t like the wording ‘follower’, when I know you are all leaders (will that keep you following me? compliments? they always work for me).  I have an awful lot going on right now and this project of editing is the only thing that is keeping me coming here each day and checking in. I’m serious, I have wanted to stop blogging so I can add an extra hour into my work day, I want to not do the project so I can focus on the blog re-design, etc., but I know those are pipe dreams, the only thing that works for me is to keep moving, when I stop I can’t get anything done, when I am going, going going, things are accomplished. I am going to slow down this upcoming weekend though as I am going away to meet some blog friends in ‘real life’. It’s quite a thrill and something I missed last year as I started a job that I promptly got fired from, for what else? blogging. oops. If I knew I was going to get canned (a first, ouch) I would have gone away for the weekend prior. Live and learn.

I will be editing a photo a day for the remainder of 2012::Project MMXII, this is my ‘after’, you can view the ‘before’ here.

  1. I think you and I are summer people. Even though we love the rain (when we’re indoors) I think we get too gloomy when it’s not bright and sunny. I completely agree that sometimes you need to have something for a reason to keep coming back. That’s how I feel about my weekly decluttering posts. I’m in such a funk lately, that I want to sleep the days away. (I NEVER do.) Those Thursday posts make me happy and keep me on track.

  2. Maybe that’s why we like the rain, because it’s a ‘treat’? Yes, I feel the funk but I do like to have a goal and I so hope I don’t give up on it this year:)

  3. This shot is just exquisite T, and I have no idea how you did it. Amazing!
    P.S. I too am one who feels far too deeply saddened when someone unfollows me (via some social networking site or my blog)…but I try to remember that it only means you are building a specific niche on the web…and those people just don’t fit into it. There’s nothing wrong with you, or them for unfollowing…they are just not who you are trying to reach, so it’s best to let them go and not take it personally. Of course all this is easier said than done…but I did want you to know you’re not alone. xo Ez

  4. Ez, I am going to get you and the class the action I created and you will be able to ‘paint with light’ too! Thank you for the note, I can understand people un-following me but you?! No way:)

  5. Oh I would love that action T! And people unfollow me all the time. Especially on Twitter…whenever I am sick and make the mistake of mentioning it. Go figure. Last I checked the common cold wasn’t transmittable via the internet. Right?
    xo Ez

  6. I’ve been really enjoying your photo a day series – This is one of my favorites to date – I LOVE all things green – greenery is more beautiful than flowers to me and your edit of this photo is gorgeous! Congrats on slogging through all your many orders over the weekend!

  7. Ez, that’s funny, I think people want to be entertained and a cold is not fun. I am a Twitter dolt, so if I used it more I am sure it would give me another thing to be co-dependent over, lol.

    Michelle, thank you for the comment! I agree some foliage can trump a floral. I was surprised how many different leaves I found just walking down my block, it’s amazing what you notice when you actually start to look. I honestly didn’t realize that I was living next to such beauty!

  8. I can’t believe you’ve kept this up. I can’t even begin to understand the time and energy it takes you to do this every single day. I’m very impressed. If this was me, it would have died around about day 3. Kudos to you!

    I’m glad to hear Jules say she’s in a funk, because I’ve been deep in one too. And maybe she’s right about it having to do with the weather. It’s bright and sunny here, but too cold to enjoy it. Hopefully with spring around the corner the cobwebs/clouds in my brain will part for all of us.

  9. Toi, yes, it’s been a little gloomy here lately, something we are not prepared for, lol. I am going to Northern Cal and Portland next week, but I am going to embrace the clouds + rain and call it cozy. I am am really excited for my little adventure!
