It poured today, which I usually love, but my computer was on the fritz which should have made for a cozy day indoors working away, but instead made me a homicidal maniac. I had the uncontrollable urge to throw things, stomp my feet and generally throw a tantrum. Instead, I made an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar and trudged my way through the torrential downpour to calm my frayed nerves. I got there on time and then I waited. Then waited some more. Then waited some more. I finally asked a salesperson if perhaps my appointment wasn’t booked, he looked up my name and said, ‘Your name is on the list and you are next after Max, Mandy, Sarah, Lark and Martin, oh, and John.’ Okay. Trying to control my impatience and simmering rage, which was not directed at the Geniuses but at my computer for forsaking me. I do get completely insane when it comes to my computer not working, I feel like it’s taunting me because it knows I am helpless. When I finally got up to discuss my problem with the Genius, it seems the problem was so minute that my 3 lb. dog George could have fixed it (with her eyes closed, standing on her head.) Sigh.

The Ultimate Stationery Set has been sold out since Christmas and I have been waiting patiently (okay, impatiently) for my wood boxes to be made, painted and delivered to the studio. It seemed like forever. They arrived yesterday and I quickly got to work packing them up with all their goodies. This is one of my very favorite items in the shop, although the Luxe Correspondence Set I put up for those that couldn’t wait, runs a close second. I especially like that one because the box is modeled after old time letterpress printer boxes and has a see-through sliding cover (it also makes awesome storage for your hand stamps). I have so many ideas centered around that box. I think you could do so much like stain it and make it look worn (like these awesome crates). Sigh.  I am sold out of ink now though, my inventory skills need assistance, I am not the worlds greatest counter. I signed up for this program and love how organized I feel.  I am being very conservative right now with my inventory because we are looking to relocate and I don’t want too have to pack too much precious cargo that could be ruined in a move (pristine, I like my parcels to arrive to their destination pristine).  I will write more in-depth about the relocation efforts, but we do have a ticket booked for North Carolina (outside of Raleigh) for the middle of March and we are driving up the West coast and going to Portland the first week of March. We have our dog friendly hotel all booked!  I definitely will be wanting to hear from everyone on these two places, but want to give it it’s own shiny post.

Oh, my!  I forgot it was Valentine’s Day, I want to wish you all a day filled with love and sweets! I mentioned that my husband and I celebrated early, so happy about that; who wants to go to a crowded dinner on a Tuesday anyway? Not I said the fly.  I know some people think this holiday is just a big bunch of commercialism but I actually quite like it. It’s nice to stop and do something special for the person you love. So today I am sending you my love, lot’s of it with a bear hug thrown in for good measure.

I find this owl to have a look of ‘don’t mess with me’, is it just me?  I am coo coo for antique photo processes and love to go hide out in my ‘digital darkroom’ and try to recreate those same techniques. I would love to take an alternate photo developing class, but for today I will be satisfied with Photoshop.

I have a new Owl giclee and a bad ass hawk giclee to giveaway! The Owl is 8″ x 12″ matted in an 11″ x 14″ frame and the Hawk is 8″ x 12″ matted in a 16″ x 20″ frame. These were professionally framed and were even signed by the framer to last for life (this is no joke, they left no space for me to sign).
