PINTEREST CURATOR// ELIZABETH MESSINA

Curator Elizabeth Messina Besotted IAs excited as I was last week about finding out that Diane Keaton was pinning, this week I found out one of my fave photographers Elizabeth Messina has joined in the fun as well!  Like her photographs her pins have a dreamy ethereal vibe to them. I love her portraits board, it’s such a treat to find what inspires someone so talented as Ms. Messina, she has some excellent inspirations!  I usually try to refrain from using the word romantic to describe anything I have an affinity for because the word conjures up too many connotations of bodice ripping and such, but in the case of Elizabeth Messina’s boards I don’t think there is a better descriptive, they are romantic, but in the best way possible. If you are falling in love, are in love or blissfully hoping for a love, I think you will find Elizabeth’s boards flooded with love-centric imagery + inspiration, I know I left them feeling more love-ly. Elizabeth has an amazing eye for texture, especially when it is set against a contrast subject– think beautifully worn gowns against luminous skin and hair, the combo is the visual equivalent of the best melt in your mouth chocolate you ever did have. Her Yearn board makes me a little weak in the knee’s.  Visit Elizabeth’s boards, especially with your new ‘muse’ prompt for Inspiration Rx, there’s sure to be something there that can inspire your project for this week!

  1. Ohhhhh Elizabeth. My dream best friend. She is not only amazingly talented, but being one of the sweetest people in the world makes a huge different.

I don’t know if I ever told you my stories about Elizabeth Messina, but after WPPI for three years, she is hands down the person I will move mountains for to attend and give love to and buy ANYTHING she touches.

My first time meeting her, I had just brought Ryan home from the rehab center after his stroke. It was about 3 months after that and still so very fresh. She let me cry at her and gave me a big sweet hug after talking to her after the session. The next year, her class involved a part about her son going through an incredible diabetes journey full of scary hospital sessions. She remembered me and we discussed documenting those painful moments. This year, she remembered me again and I got a picture with her, which she hates being in front of the camera. Like, almost broke out in hives. But she is so beautiful and real and I want to be her bestie so badly….also, her children are some the sweetest, most well behaved in the entire world. They are doing something right!

  2. I’m a glutton for whimsical romantic imagery. Perhaps I never grew out of the fanciful daydreams awarded young girls, but I am quite thankful for that! Thanks for sharing another lovely pinner.
