PHOTOGRAPHER TONY DURAN

I can’t imagine anyone not wanting a portrait of themselves in this soft, golden light.  This was the latest cover of Angeleno magazine shot by Tony Duran. I now keep Ms. Williams creamy visage on my desk at work so I can sneak peeks at the image and try desperately to analyze how the photo was created.  Did Mr. Duran put her near a window, if so what time of day? Did he use a gold reflector to produce this warm glow?  How Mr. Duran did you accomplish this amazing shot?  If only all my photo’s had this light and tone.  Oh yes, the rest of the shoot wasn’t too shabby either, I could go on and on about the makeup as well (flawless, simple, clean, minimalist, natural..) and of course the diminutive Ms. Williams looks like a Scandinavian angel from heaven. I couldn’t love this photograph more if I tried.

  1. What do I love more? the shot or the flawless complexion which still does not show too many hours in the sun? (It’s coming baby, it’s coming)! (Sorry, that was mean) —

I think studio and lots of nice PS…..

Please get back and tell us what you think it is? Pretty Please! maybe you can try the same shot with Bella?

  2. That doesn’t even look like Michelle Williams! She’s not an ugly girl, but in that picture she looks amazing. She looks back lit from over the left shoulder. I think?

  3. I wish I knew what it is, there’s an overall creamines and the light is flipping me out! I am thinking she is by a window but what time? She’s in Los Angeles, I NEED to know what time and then I am only going to shoot at that time, during that month, lol.

  4. This is beyond beautiful. Michelle needs to keep this picture with her at all times. When she is walking out the door for an awards show she needs to reference it and ask herself, “Do I look this beautiful in this awful dress with daisies on it?” If the answer is no, she needs to turn around and try again until the answer is yes.

  5. beautiful pic!

it’s hard to know how he set up the shot, but there are filters for both camera and flash that can give certain effects…..

  6. What an amazing image! I think perhaps he had a big soft box behind her that was giving out a stronger flash so she looks floating in light, and a small soft box in the front to light up her face.

  7. Gorgeous light!

If it’s not studio (which it could be…) I would definitely say it’s a morning light from her right shoulder, possibly a soft box to her left and a reflector in the bottom right. You can see the reflection in her eyes. The lighting reminds me of Jose Villa…very soft and just gorgeous.
